Winter fishing

With the sun shining down on the ice, coffee brewing over the fire, hotdog on the barbecue, a drilled hole in the ice and biting fish,

there is nothing better than winter fishing to get you out into nature to experience a Swedish winter. Winter fishing is suitable for young and old, the experienced and the novice. Our part of Småland is home to 388 lakes on which you can enjoy the winter and try your luck fishing.

Ice fishing

The most classic fishing methods on winter ice are ice fishing and ice angling. Ice fishing is the most popular and easiest form of winter fishing because it doesn't require as much equipment.  All you need is an ice drill, an ice fishing rod with shiny and live bait in the form of a maggot or worm and a folding chair or sleeping mat to sit on. Then just enjoy.

Safety

It is always important to think about safety when out on the ice. Check the thickness of the ice and always carry safety equipment/ice spikes with you.
