Ettö naturreservat

Hike & swim in Ettö Nature Reserve

Pack your picnic basket and swimwear and head to the beautiful Ettö Nature Reserve.

When you walk through the nature reserve, you have sand under your feet. At the end of the Ice Age, when the ice sheet melted, ice rivers with meltwater brought the sand with them and created Ettö and the surrounding delta landscape. Within the boundaries of the reserve there is a variation in nature; Beautiful summer meadows and pastures, coniferous forest areas and alder-dominated marsh forest that occasionally floods. Experience the area's fascinating nature by hiking the Ettö golf course trail that takes you around the entire area. To the delight of many children, the trail goes through pastures where cows graze during the summer months. Another favourite is the awesome suspension bridge that takes you over Nissaån. End your hike by taking a dip at the small swimming beach in Svartvik, which is located in the northern part of the reserve. There is also a picnic area and fireplace, ideal for picnics and barbecuing. Don't miss the blue-marked path of a few hundred metres that leads out to the viewpoint between Svartevik and Ettösjön.
