Hike around Draven

Bring your binoculars and discover the amazing bird life of Draven

Put on your hiking boots and discover Draven's amazing plant and animal life. The area consists of a slow-moving lake whose history dates back to the Ice Age. There is a marked hiking trail around the area of approx. 9 km. It mainly takes you across footbridges and several small bridges over wet areas. Start your hike at the bird tower located just before Väcklinge. Parking is available as well as an information board.

Along the trail you pass two bird watching towers and several hides and lookouts. Draven is one of Sweden's most interesting bird areas and an important breeding site for a wide range of birds, mainly ducks and waders. Peregrine falcons have also been spotted at the lake and several other birds of prey hunt their food here. In winter you can see white-tailed eagles.

There are several scenic picnic areas along the trail, with beautiful views of the area. In the rest cabin "Holgers stuga" you can warm yourself on a cold autumn or winter day by lighting a fire. Extend your adventure by staying overnight in the cosy shelter at Kinnaberg. Don't forget to pack your binoculars.
