Släthult Farm Shop
Norra Släthult Farm is located just outside Smålandsstenar and is run by Kalle and Kristine. The farm is home to around a hundred cows and calves. Kalle and Kristine are passionate about locally produced food and the opportunity to offer meat from their own farm directly to consumers.
In the charming farm shop Släthultsboden, you can buy dry-aged beef of high quality and Ida’s cheesecake. Ida, the creator of the recipe, was born in the 1880s. The recipe has been passed down through the family for over 100 years, and today it is baked by Ida’s great-great-granddaughter Kristine. The shop also offers jam, marmalade, spices, sauces, dressings, bread, and handicrafts.
The farm also breeds Ardennes horses, and in summer you might experience a real dose of cuteness from all the foals frolicking in the fields. Kalle and Kristine also offer horse-and-carriage rides for up to 10–12 people. The most popular ride follows winding forest paths down to the beautiful Släthult Mill, built in the 16th century. Here, visitors can enjoy a coffee break while taking in the scenic surroundings.
Opening hours: Irregular opening hours. See social media or contact Kristine.
